Today was going so well, and then I learn about this...oh man. I guess...I just don't know.

Today Dross and I went to lunch with Jenkins. She told us a lot of the faculty gossip while we checked out stores on Hawthorne. We had a really nice lunch at Bridgeport and some excellent ice cream at Cold Stone. I really like Hawthorne. Jenkins is so great. Dross and I had a couple dance parties in the car while listening to Fiddy and TI. Haysoos we're awesome. I came home and my mom and I turned right around and drove back downtown to catch the Diane Arbus show at the Portland Art Museum. It was pretty cool. Her portraits are awesome. We also saw this impressionist guy who wasn't as cool. I don't really dig the impressionism. Give me cubism, give me fauvism, give me modern art. I guess some of it's pretty cool. Meh, I'm a ceramicist, what do I know.

My brother is in Dallas right now (well okay, Arlington) at a fencing tournament, and he got rocked. He did really, really poorly. My mom, being the crazy woman that she is, completely flipped out. This has been building for a long time and it finally burst tonight. She kept crying to my dad about how he isn't competitive, how he has no motivation, and how he can't go to college if he doesn't get a fencing scholarship. She really broke down. Everything got really tense, and she started to ask me about why I play sports and if I have competitiveness in me. My dad, the incredibly sane and level-headed guy that he is, even had a noticeable change in his attitude; my mother's obsessive repugnance at the lackluster efforts of my brother was present in everything that she did. Eating a family dinner, for the first time in my entire life, was heavy and uncomfortable. The atmosphere in my house has never held such a thickly negative sentiment in it as it does now.

So I was glad to leave. Riley's was a lot of fun. I thought that the slide show was going to last for, oh, at least two hours. It was short, but the pictures were really, really good. The crew there was eclectic but cohesive. Well, until the TGs broke away, because we tend to do that I suppose. I ate a lot of food. Ribecca was so cute. NO SX, though. Please. Oh, and Rebecca and I got some words out of Quinny! What a cutie. He has such a hot voice. And body. I'm thinking about asking him to Prom. I was really glad to see Hat after not seeing her since Friday. We don't go this long without seeing each other! But she had an awesome time in Condon with the puppy, so life is good.

Tomorrow I'm going Prom dress shopping. I really want to get this dress in Apple Green. We'll see how it goes.

Have a pleasant tomorrow.
